Streaks

How the flame works.

Everything a parent should know before handing over the tablet: how the flame grows, what happens on a hard day, and what the optional extras do.

Fifteen flames to grow into.

A Streak Day is a day when every Daily goal gets done. Each one moves the flame along the ladder. Six tiers arrive in the first month, then the gaps stretch out so the big ones feel earned.

  1. Day 1SparkA single dancing spark with tiny light pops.
  2. Day 3FlickerA small teardrop flame that wobbles and follows a finger.
  3. Day 5CandleA steady candle with its first warm glow.
  4. Day 7TorchOne whole week. The first big fanfare.
  5. Day 14CampfireLogs, crackle and drifting sparks. A kid's own idea.
  6. Day 21BonfireTaller, with a column of sparks and a heat shimmer.
  7. Day 30Blazing BonfireOrange shifts to gold, with orbiting fireflies.
  8. Day 50BeaconA flame atop a stone tower, sweeping its light.
  9. Day 75Blue FlameBlue-white and hotter than fire. The bragging tier.
  10. Day 100PhoenixThe flame becomes a fire-bird nesting in the bonfire.
  11. Day 150Golden PhoenixGold plumage. Now and then it flies around the screen.
  12. Day 200StarfireComet-dust trails and a night sky that unlocks.
  13. Day 250Aurora FlameGreen and violet aurora curtains above the fire.
  14. Day 300DragonflameA small fire dragon curled around the flame.
  15. Day 365Eternal FlameA sun-crowned flame on a shrine. A trophy kept forever.
  • One flame per kidSiblings each grow their own. Nobody's flame depends on anyone else.
  • Tiers are keptReach Campfire once and the Campfire badge is yours for good.
  • Personal best staysA child's longest streak is never lowered, whatever happens next.
  • A real summitAfter day 365 there are no new tiers. The Eternal Flame stays the top.

Mercy is your call.

Choose for each child how a missed day plays out. Both modes keep the personal best and welcome a kid back warmly. Neither one ever shames.

The default

Strict

A classic streak. Miss a day that was owed and the flame starts again from a Spark.

Warm Start
The first three days of a new streak get a gentle welcome-back greeting. Day one after a break is the hardest one, so we make it friendly.
Embers, not ashes
A broken flame shows as glowing embers. Never grey, never a red X, never shown to a sibling.
Your choice, per child

Forgiving

Embers and Rekindles soften a real miss. Kids earn them by showing up. Nobody can buy them.

Ember
One earned for every 7 Streak Days in a row, up to 2 saved (you can set 0 to 3). It covers a missed day automatically, and your kid sees it happened the next morning.
Rekindle
After a break, a Perfect Day by the end of the next day brings the whole flame back. Once every 30 days. Your kid does it; you confirm.

Pause Days

Going camping? Mark a Pause Day and the flame simply holds. It works in strict mode too, because there was nothing to miss.

No goals due

Weekday-only goals? Days with nothing due hold the flame as well. Weekends off never break a streak.

A promise ledger, not a bank.

Marshmallows come from finished goals. A full day of goals is worth about 10 for every kid, whatever their age, so siblings earn on the same scale.

You stock the store with real rewards: a name, a picture, a price, and a limit if you want one, like once a month.

  1. Your kid asksThey spend from the store whenever they have enough.
  2. You say yesOne tap. Their screen celebrates the moment you do.
  3. It happensIt stays on your list until you mark it delivered.
  • Never taken awayNo deductions as punishment. A hard day earns nothing and costs nothing.
  • No debt, no advancesBalances never go below zero.
  • Points never expireSaving up for something big is a skill worth learning.
  • Prices make sense to kidsEvery reward shows its cost in perfect days as well as points.

Reading for fun stays fun. Activities a kid might already enjoy earn flame credit and badges, not points. Paying for them can quietly take the joy out.

Family Fire: one hearth, everyone's logs.

Every kid's Streak Day adds a log to a shared family hearth. Fill it to the number you set and the whole family gets the reward.

  • Cooperative first. Siblings want each other to finish, because everyone shares the pizza.
  • Works with two kids. Competition is weakest in small families; teamwork isn't.
  • Highlights, not rankings. The optional sibling board shows what each kid did well this week and resets weekly. You can leave a child off it and keep them in Family Fire.

Your side: one screen a night.

The parent screen is built to be closed quickly. Glance, approve, and get one suggestion for something worth saying out loud.

  • Tonight at a glanceWho's done, who's still going, and anything that needs your OK.
  • A praise nudgeAt milestones, a prompt to praise how they did it: "you remembered three days without a reminder."
  • A check on the goals, not the kidIf completion stays under 40% for two weeks, we tell you the goals need retuning and show you how.
  • A weekly family meetingReview goals together. Kids can propose goals and rewards, and you approve them.
  • A trophy shelfWhen a goal becomes a habit, it graduates. That's the app working as intended.
  • Every deviceTablets, phones and the web, all sharing one household.

Give every kid a flame.
